UMI Makassar – There are 46 new lecturers of Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI) ready to get down to the patronage village in Gowa, Takalar, and Pangkep regency to do the community services for 40 days. Before doing the community services, a briefing given by the Institute of Community Services and religious proselytizing (dakwah) (LPMD) UMI. This event is opened by the Rector of UMI, Prof. Dr. Hj. Masrurah Mokhtar, MA accompanied by Chairman of LPMD UMI, Prof. Dr. H. Salim Basalamah, SE, MSi in the third floor, LPMD meeting room at UMI Tower, Wednesday, December 7, 2016.
Rector of UMI, Prof. Dr. Hj. Masrurah Mokhtar, MA said that before involving in the community services, we should make clear our intention. First, this event is not a burden, because it would be hard to do if we think so, especially the community services that we do in the village.
“This activity is a noble task that if we do with sincerity, Insya Allah, it will be worth worship with Allah SWT,” she said.
Chairman of LPMD UMI Prof. Dr. H. Salim Basalamah, SE, MSi stated that community services activities in the patronage village of UMI are an obligation for new lecturers of UMI, and this is one of the requirements to be appointed as permanent lecturers of UMI. This activity should be carried out properly, as it will be monitored and evaluated in the field.
This briefing will be held in one day with some materials are religious proselytizing (dakwah) materials, the application of appropriate technology, entrepreneurship, and procedures for the implementation of the corpse. The material is expected to be a provision in doing community services so that its presence can give benefit to society.
