Makassar, umi.ac.id – Medical Faculty (FK) of Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI) held the Ibnu Sina Medical Competition and National Symposium, Saturday (20/3/2021).
The activity entitled ‘Current Update on Covid-19 and Patient’s Management attended by 16 speakers from various leading universities.
This national event was opened directly by the rector of UMI represented by Vice Rector V Prof. Dr. Ir Hattah Fattah, M.S.
In his remarks, the Vice Rector for Cooperation and Promotion Affairs stated his appreciation for the various productive activities of the faculty during the Covid 19 pandemic, including creativity and innovation of the students. The leaders of UMI would always support such activities, especially in the effort to improve the competence of a prospective doctor.
Take the current national symposium as the example, where the program is the excellent effort to encourage and assist the professional doctors, said Prof. Hatta Fattah.
“I am amazed with the medical students who are very active in many activities such as volunteering in the disaster areas, scientific activities, and various student competition events,” said the Professor of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences.
Meanwhile, Secretary of the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) Sulselbar Dr. Muhammad Amsyar Akil SP.THT (K) in his speech, said that such event was very important role in increasing competence of the participants. “This program can increase both the insight and also competence of the participants to answer the challenges of advancing medical science,” he said.
Meanwhile the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine UMI, Prof. dr. H. Syarifuddin Wahid, PhD., SpPA (K), stressed that the Ibnu Sina Medical Competition was a profound program held annually by FK UMI.
“This Symposium is part of a series of major activities in the Ibnu Sina Medical Competition held annually,” he explained. We should be grateful to all parties who support this activity, especially the rector of UMI who always provides supports in the activities of the Faculty.
Whereas the President of BEM FK UMI, Muhammad Yusuf Rezky Ramadhan, said that the national symposium was one of the activities of Ibnu Sina Medical Competition. The activity attended by approximately 600 of General Practitioners, PPDPS, Specialist Doctors, Medical Students aimed to increase knowledge and increase the understanding about the latest Covid 19 issues and find their solutions of the latest Covid 19 patients.
