Makassar, umi.ac.id – Communication Science Student Association known as HIMIKOM of UMI held a virtual sharing session, Saturday (13/2/2021).

This activity was held in order to socialize the 2021Student Creativity Program by the Directorate General of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa), Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) RI.

The sharing session was hosted by the student of Communication Science Febrianti S, the winner of PKM-M 2020. The invited presenter was a National Reviewer of PKM Belmawa from the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, St. Hajrah Mansyur, S.Kom., M.Cs.

In her presentation, St Hajrah divided her presentation into four topics including general explanations of PKM, PKM in five areas, and PKM of futuristic ideas, PKM writing of 2021.

“One of the important tasks of the Directorate General of Belmawa, Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia is to encourage future-oriented human resources. To achieve that students and universities should be working together to produce qualified and competitive graduates, “said St Hajrah

“Furthermore, the implementation of the Kampus Merdeka(independent campus) and Merdeka Belajar (Learning freely), is expected to provide a positive climate to the development of student’s interests and talents,” continued the lecturer at the Faculty of Computer Science(Fikom) UMI.

St Hajrah said, the potential PKM for the students to be able to participate is PKM in 5 fields (PKM-R, PKM-PM, PKM-K, PKM-PI, PKM-KC),PKM-KT (PKM-AI and PKM-GT), and PKM-GFK.

“This aims to increase the student’s participation in managing their imagination, perceptions and reasoning skills for futuristic governance as an effort to achieve the 17 SDGs goals in Indonesia and a solution to the issues faced by Indonesian people,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Vice Dean III for Student and Alumni Affairs, Faculty of Letters UMI, Abd. Majid, S.Sos.I., M.Si, appreciates students who initiate this activity. This activity is a good way to familiarize students and lecturers with the national events, update information and deepen PKM 2021 guidelines.

“This activity is also expected to unite the potentials and creativity of study program students in the Faculty of Letters, writing proposals which are potentially funded and to compete in the PIMNAS 2021,” said Majid.

Head of Communication Science Study Program of UMIDR.Hadawiah, SE., M.Si expects this activity will be an annual activity and all students who take part in the activity should immediately form a team and express their ideas that should create creative works and lead to high achievement.

The participants of this activity were very enthusiastic to participate during the presentation.
