UMI Makassar – Citizens lives in Poskedes Desa Minasa in Baji, Bantimurung District, for a health check and free medical treatment organized by students of Regular Student Service Batch 57 Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI) in Makassar, on Thursday (24/11).

Chief of the committee, Lestary Kadir said that residents enthusiastically participated in such treatment. Even people who come is more than the target of about 50 people.

“Our goal is only 50 people; it turns out the person who came for treatment goals above current numbers. We do not expect, concerned residents to seek treatment is quite high. The awareness of citizens about the importance of health is quite high,” she said.

The students perform blood pressure checks, blood sugar, uric acid, cholesterol, and body mass index (BMI) as well as several other diseases.

However, most people check their sugar levels, blood pressure and common illnesses such as colds and coughs.

“Most of the people affected by diabetes, high blood pressure, flu, and cough. For the treatment we were assisted by our lecturer Rachmat Faizal Syamsu,” she said.

A total of 117 students of Internship Students UMI who was in Bantimurung. The students came from 7 different faculties such as Economics, Agriculture, Dental Health, Health Society, Computer Science, Industrial Technology and Letters

In addition to free medical treatment, these students are also conducting agriculture and entrepreneurship seminars, handling of corpses and the bodies and some religious activities.
