UMI Makassar – Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI) has the vision to become a world-class university that produces Excellence, Qualified and Islamic graduates that are ready to compete in the global fight. To achieve this vision, the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) UMI cooperates with Kuliyyah of Dentistry, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) to organize International Student Service. It will be held on December 4 to 12 December 2016 on the campus of Kuantan Malaysia.

The free event of international student services is conducted by the Rector of UMI, Prof Dr. Masrurah Mokhtar in FKG UMI Campus, Jl. Kakatua Makassar. On that occasion, the Rector said that the international student service is an implementation of international cooperation UMI that is intended to spur the process of internationalization of UMI.

This International Student Service is an integral part of the UMI regular Student Service. According to the Chairman of LPMD UMI, Prof Salim Basalamah, the students who participating in the international student service have addition value experience to interact with the international community.

This program is strongly supported by the Association of Parents and Lectures (POMD) FKG UMI. Prof M Kasnir, the chairman of POMD today said that the program which aims to improve the quality of students would be a priority financing assistance of POMD.

Furthermore, the dean of the Faculty of Dentistry UMI, Dr. drg Syamsu Khaldun said that the program was designed between UMI and IIUM, so the participated students will gain an understanding of dental health in Malaysia and students also on a mission to introduce UMI and Indonesia into the international arena.

Head of the International Affairs Office (KUI) Ir. Hj. Setyawati Yani, ST., M.T., Ph.D. said that when dental students in IIUM, they will be living in student dormitories with IIUM student. Dental students will carry out a variety of programs that designed carefully so that both sides are IIUM and UMI will get benefit from the program. Various cooperation is done by UMI that undertaken by both institutions in the country or abroad are always accompanied by the implementation of collaboration. “All was done to achieve the vision of UMI to become a world-class university,” he said.
