Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI) received the field evaluation team for the Doctoral Program in Fisheries Science. The team of 9 people from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, including the Head of Higher Education Services Institute (LLDIKTI) Region IX, Prof. Dr. Jasruddin, M.Si. was present at the team welcoming ceremony at the 9th Floor of the UMI Tower, Senate Meeting Room, Monday (23/9/2019).
The Head of LLDIKTI Region appreciated UMI as the first higher education institution with A accreditation outside of Java Island, and was committed to oversee the process of the opening of the Doctoral Program to run well. He further said that “UMI with 17 accredited Study Programs with “A” score could be an inspiration for the other private universities, and LLDIKTI would always oversee the campuses in the Sulawesi work area through the team accompanying the accreditation process. Regarding the opening of the Doctoral Program, he promised to watch until the well-running study program,” he said.
The representative of the team, Prof. Dr. Ir. Lili Warly, congratulated to the opening of the Fisheries Science Doctoral Program proposed by UMI and hoped that the Doctoral Program development team could prepare the files to be verified.
“First of all, I would like to congratulate for the opening of this Doctoral Program. Our visit to UMI is intended to verify/evaluate the documents previously submitted. UMI has successfully passed two stages in terms of human resources/lecturers and proposals. We hope all the documents to be verified prepared well”, he explained.
The Rector of the Universitas Muslim Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Basri Modding, S.E., M.Si., was grateful for the opening of the Fisheries Science Doctoral Program. He hoped that UMI could be the pioneer in the field of fisheries science development, and would contribute to the nation’s progress in the maritime field.
“Alhamdulillah, the hard work of the opening team of the fisheries doctoral program produced a visit by the field evaluation team from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. Hopefully with the opening of this doctoral program, the development of the fisheries science could be more advanced in the city of Makassar in particular and could be more contributing to the progress of the nation in the field of maritime in general “, he said.
At the welcoming ceremony, Prof. Dr. Ir. Syamsul Rizal, Prof. Dr. Ir. Lili Warly, and Prof. Dr. Ir. Salengke represented Kemenristekdikti as the field evaluation team while from UMI, Dr. Ir. H. Hanafi Ashad, M.T., as the Vice-Rector I, Prof. Dr. H. Salim Basalamah, S.E., M.Si., as the Vice-Rector II, Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Hatta Fattah, M.S., as the Vice-Rector V, and Prof. Dr. H. Baharuddin Semmaila, S.E., M.Si., as the Director of the Postgraduate Program were also respectedly present.
